Chinese teen Lv Haotian proved to be a stumbling block in sixteen-time World Champion Pankaj Advani’s pursuit of bagging the elusive Asian snooker title.
Yesterday at the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation premises, the 19-year old from Beijing, who started playing the game at the age of ten years, won by six frames to three to clinch the Asian snooker championship. The Chinese collected $7,000 for his win while Advani took home $3,500. The defeat meant Advani, who has won all the major events –Asian and World Championships in both Billiards and Snooker and in both the long and short formats, will have to wait for another year to add the 15-red Asian Snooker to his collection of titles.
