Doha, Qatar: The Mobile World Congress (MWC) Doha 2025 has concluded its first-ever edition, drawing nearly 9,500 unique attendees from more than 110 countries and territories.

The event reflected the heightened interest in the digital transformation progress and emphasised the surging global attention on the region’s expanding influence in driving intelligent networks and next-gen digital innovation.

During the conference, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, H E Mohammed bin Ali Al-Mannai, said: “The first edition of MWC25 Doha highlights the important role our region can play in shaping the future of telecommunications and information technology. Hosting this level of global expertise and major technology companies in Doha demonstrates the ability of our economies to harness 5G and next-generation networks, artificial intelligence, and intelligent digital platforms in practical applications that support innovation and sustainable growth.

“At MCIT, we remain committed to strengthening our partnership with the GSMA, building on the outcomes of this edition to launch new joint initiatives, elevate the region’s presence within the global innovation ecosystem, and advance our aspirations for a more advanced and sustainable digital future.”

The event also showcased the Qatar Pavilion, which emerged as a key focal point for visiting foreign delegations. The pavilion featured 32 national digital initiatives from 17 government entities, providing a comprehensive showcase of Qatar’s progress in smart city development, digital government services, digital identity, AI-driven solutions, and cutting-edge emerging technologies.

The agenda of the conference delivered a robust programme of panel discussions and dialogue sessions, featuring nearly 300 global speakers and industry experts. On the exhibition floor, more than 250 exhibitors and sponsors presented interactive demonstrations and immersive experiences that highlighted the future of connectivity and next-generation digital services.

The Director General of the GSMA, Vivek Badrinath, stated: “Launching MWC in Doha at this pivotal moment gives the region a platform to show the scale of its digital ambition.

The energy and focus across the event have been clear, with government and industry leveraging this inaugural edition to advance practical solutions and support new partnerships. At the same time, we know the job is not done. Extending digital progress to every community across MENA will take sustained collaboration, and the progress we’ve seen here is an important step in that direction.”  During the programme, participants saw the signing of more than 30 collaborations, cooperation agreements, and memorandums of understanding, further bolstering the innovation ecosystem and creating new avenues for digital growth.

Managing Director of TOD, Peter Mrkic, noted that the roadmap is driven by ambition, scale, and a commitment to delivering meaningful value to its audiences. “We are widening our footprint across new markets, strengthening our partnerships, and expanding our catalogue of global sports and entertainment. This is shaping an ecosystem that speaks to the region’s appetite for premium digital experiences.”
