Doha: Qatar holds on to post of the Secretary-General of Arab Union for Voluntary Work (AUVW).
Yousef Al Kazim was chosen as Secretary-General for 2015-2019 and Sahar Ahmed Al Obad, Chairperson, Emirates Volunteer Association, was elected as President of AUVW.
The outcome reached during the fourth session of AUVW general assembly, with the participation of representatives from 15 Arab countries, Arab League, Arab-African Youth Council, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Qatar Centre for Voluntary Activities.
Sudanese Hisham Ridh was appointed as the First Deputy Chairman of AUVW, Kuwaiti Ahmed Al Murshid Second Deputy Chairman and Qatar named among 13 countries in the executive office.
Participants reviewed an administrative and financial report, activities, forums and conferences for the past four years, and proposals by some members to amend the statute of the union.
