DOHA: The Qatar Central Bank (QCB) will issue T-bills worth QR4bn on December 1, 2015.
The Treasury bills worth QR2bn will be issued with a maturity period of three months ending March 1, 2016. The central bank will issue T-bills worth QR1bn with a maturity period of six months ending June 2, 2016. Another QR1bn worth treasury bills will be issued with a maturity period of nine months ending September 1, 2016, QCB announced.
The issue is likely to see an overwhelming response from local banks, given that it is a free-risk investment, business portal ‘Mubasher’ quoted experts as saying. The banks have enough liquidity to buy treasury bills. According to Mubasher, the combined value of Qatar’s T-bills will total QR48bn at the end of this year.
