DOHA: A regional culinary competition and a mocktail contest will feature Qatar Hospitality 2015, the 360° hospitality & HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants and Cafes) show from October 13 to 15 at Doha Exhibition Centre.
Salon Culinaire will gather the country’s leading chefs to compete in 15 categories. It is organised and co-organised by IFP Qatar and Qatar Culinary Professionals, (QCP) an association of chefs, respectively. It will be supervised by World Association of Chefs Societies for Africa & the Middle East (WACS) and judged by 10 regional and international experts. QCP is recognised under WACS.
“QCP is very proud to join hands with IFP for the first approved World Chef Salon Culinaire competition in Qatar, hosted as part of Hospitality Qatar 2015. Our support for it reinforces our mission to provide chefs with tools to develop their career while creating a network of chefs from across multi-unit food service operations in the Middle East,” said David Sosson, President, QCP.
Sponsored by STAR Hospitality, the Mocktail competition will offer an opportunity for HORECA bartenders to test their knowledge and compete for the tastiest mocktail in Doha.
“We are hosting Mocktail training on October 12 and a Flaring training on October 13 that is open to all participating bartenders so they can practise and hone skills,” said M Naveed Abdulla, Business Director, Gulf STAR Group.
The jury will comprise two bartenders, local and regional, and STAR Hospitality will award gold, silver and bronze trophies to top three winners.
