Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Public Health has announced the implementation of a comprehensive plan to ensure food safety and effective control measures throughout the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025. The plan is based on the application of best international practices and global standards in food control, ensuring a safe and exceptional experience for all tournament participants and visitors.
The plan, which is being executed by the Food Safety Department and local inspection teams at the Ministry of Public Health, includes coverage of all tournament venues, including accommodation sites for participating teams and referees, official delegations, stadiums, fan zones, and food suppliers providing meals and food products.
It also covers the main stadiums hosting the tournament matches, including hospitality areas, workers’ canteens, restaurants, and all hotels hosting teams, official delegations, referees, and VIPs — a total of 12 hotels — in addition to 14 food suppliers servicing those locations, as well as 95 points of sale and restaurants at stadiums and fan zones.
The Food Safety Department has allocated a team of 79 inspectors, distributed across eight groups, to ensure continuous supervision around the clock during the tournament. This includes thorough inspections, routine sampling of food, and laboratory testing at the Ministry’s Food Safety Laboratories to verify the safety of meals and food products provided.
The Ministry of Public Health urges all visitors and consumers to adhere to sound hygiene practices when consuming and handling food, whether during major events or in daily life. These include frequent handwashing, ensuring food sources are clean and safe, and avoiding exposed foods that may be prone to contamination.
The Ministry affirms that these efforts reflect the State of Qatar’s commitment to delivering a safe and healthy tournament, showcasing the highest levels of quality and preparedness, and ensuring enjoyment and safety for all participants and fans.
