Doha: Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development has concluded its educational links programme which provided a unique opportunity for a number of students for training in The Economist Group (TEG) Office in New York..
The Qatar Foundation has invited a large number of university students in Qatar to participate in the competition of writing an essay in English in which they answered the question “How can you contribute to the achievement of Qatar National Vision 2030?.”
An arbitration committee has chosen six students to attend a three-week training in the United States began from August 10 to 31, 2013.
The Four winners are Maha Al Meer from Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Asmaa Fikree, Fahad Alkhater, and Natalie Diong from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar.
The four students have benefited from the comprehensive training course ,designed by TEG’s Management and Organization Department.
During the training, the students have got acquainted on various aspects of activities and they had opportunity to plan and prepare the professional conference benefiting from the high technology in the training session.
Tariq Al Sada, Corporate and PR manager at Qatar Foundation, has commended the great effort made by the students during the training course.
He said that Qatar Foundation has made a successful and fruitful partnership with TEG, which has proven its importance through making a success in upgrading the capabilities and skills of the younger generation.
Paul Rossi, Managing director and executive vice-president, The Economist Group Americas, New York, has noted that the educational links programme has ensured an ideal opportunity for students to gain knowledge and practical experience in the field of publishing and media industry.
