Beat Diabetes Walkathon on Nov 14

Doha: Landmark Group has unveiled plans for the Fifth annual Beat Diabetes Walkathon to be held on November 14 at the Aspire Park, a press release issued by Landmark Group said yesterday. 
The Qatar edition of the walkathon is a part of the Group’s community-centric initiatives held across seven countries throughout the year to raise awareness on what has become a global pandemic. A total of 60,000 people participated in the 2013 edition while more than 75,000 took the Group’s free blood glucose tests during the year.
Landmark Group’s decision to select the Aspire Park the venue for this year’s walk include the participation of a larger number of city residents with their families, even while enjoying an energetic day at the park. Participants at the walkathon will log a distance of one kilometre on the track around Aspire Park, amounting to roughly 1,500 steps per participant. The event is supported by Aspire Management and Qatar Diabetes Association.
