DOHA: As the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) is creating many changes and introducing new initiatives. It has improved WISE social networking site, formerly known as MyWISE, offering enhanced opportunities for users to stay in touch. Its interactive layout allows people to update the profile, organise contacts and share resources discuss and build the future of education through innovation.
It has innovative groups such as Mahhakkat At Tafkir, reviving in the Arab world the learning methods of the Arab and Islamic Golden Age which are still valid in the twenty-first century for the globalised knowledge economy despite the far greater complexity and volumes of knowledge of the current century.
Leadership as Change Makers of Tomorrow is another group which aims to connect organisations and individuals interested in inculcating from a young age leadership skills, and the ability to make choices rooted in ethics. The idea is to mentor and nurture young people with the potential to lead, to evolve into the change makers of tomorrow.
Zam-Zam in War Zone is a group dedicated to all children who cannot attend school in times of conflict. Hopefully, they should at least be able to access schools in a virtual way so that they can move forward in their learning.
2012 WISE Summit under the theme Collaborating for Change will be held between November 13 and November 15 at the Qatar National Convention Centre. This year more than 1,000 prominent education, corporate, political and social leaders from over 100 countries will gather for the summit.
