BAGHDAD: A member of Diyala Provincial Council escaped an assassination attempt on Monday when a roadside bomb went east of Baquba.
A security source told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that a bomb exploded at convoy of Abdul Khaliq al-Azzawi, a member Diyala near al-Salam district east of Baquba, injuring one of his bodyguards and damaging one of convoy's wheels.
He added that the police force rushed to impose a security cordon around the blast while the wounded taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. (QNA)
