DOHA: Some primary and specialised health clinics and government dental clinics will be closed and many will remain open during the nine-day Eid Al Fitr holidays from tomorrow until August 4.
Several health centres in Doha, Al Rayyan and Madinat Khalifa will be working in two shifts during the holidays — from 7am until 2pm and 4pm until 11pm.
The timings will also apply to the two major primary health centres in Doha — Umer Bin Khattab Centre in West Bay and the one in the expat-dominated working class locality of Ummghuwailina.
All government dental clinics in Doha will remain closed during the holidays.
As for health centres outside Doha, those in Al Shamal, Al Khor and Al Wakra will be working from 7am until 11pm.
However, health centres in Al Khor and Al Shamal will have a two-hour break from 2pm until 4pm. The centre in Al Shahaniya will be open from 7am until 9pm.
The health centres in Al Jamiliya, Al Kabaan, Al Quwairiya and Umm Baab will open on a call system, Al Sharq said yesterday.
Call system apparently means the centres might open when people call or visit.
The dental clinic in Al Wakra will remain open from 7am to 2pm and from 3pm until 9pm.
The dental clinics in Al Khor and Al Shamal will work from 7am until 2pm.
They will, however, remain closed on the first day of Eid and Friday and Saturday.
The health centres in Al Dhayeen, Umm Salal, Old Airport Area, Al Karana, Mesaimeer, Al Gharrafa and Abu Nakhla will remain closed during holidays.
The specialised clinics (eye as well as ear, nose and throat (ENT) will be open in Al Muntazah only in the morning shift during the holidays and will be closed on Friday and Saturday.
During the holidays, marriage medical services will be closed except at the primary health centre in Al Rayyan.
At Al Rayyan health centre, marriage medical services will be available tomorrow from 9am until 1pm and on Wednesday from 7am and 1pm.
Medical tests are compulsory for couples wishing to get married.
