DOHA: Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) donated 100 food boxes to the Hafth Al Naama Project (Share the Grace) of Sheikh Eid Charitable Association to distribute to virtuous families, including widows, divorced women, and low-income families.
This came as an interaction with the spirit of Ramadan and in support of the needy.
It was also driven by the importance of the availability of a charitable capital as an essential basis for all companies and authorities keen to achieve social solidarity that reflects awareness of the issues of the poor and their needs for living a decent life.
The baskets consist of essential food items, including pasta, rice, flour, tomato paste, oil and sugar to prepare meals.
The idea was mooted by QFCRA employees to help their needy brothers. Many non-Muslim employees also participated by donating to charities and providing assistance.
Michael Ryan, CEO, said majority of the employees wanted to achieve social interaction for the benefit of poor families by expressing awareness of their suffering.
Mohammad Mostafa Hussein, officer in the Corporate Communications Department, said, “We will work as a team to do good throughout Ramadan, as this is how we express our keenness to support the needy and meet their requirements.”
About 100 employees volunteered and Muslim employees explained to their non-Muslim fellows advantages and virtues of Ramadan, fasting and the importance of solidarity to ensure the feeding of the poor and the compensation one gets by helping a person break his fast.
The boxes were distributed to registered beneficiaries.
