Doha: Four new Qatari experts took the legal oath yesterday at the Ministry of Justice in their capacity as seconded experts accredited before the judicial authorities in the country in accordance with the controls stipulated in Law No. 16 of 2017 regulating the work of expertise.
Assistant Undersecretary at the Office of the Minister in charge of the tasks of the Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs, Ahmed Hassan Al Kuwari, expressed his confidence that this batch of experts will be a new addition to their colleagues from the judiciary. He stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Justice to encourage and train Qatari experts in various fields, in a way that enhances the efficiency of the legal system in the country.
As part of its efforts to strengthen the national cadre of experts, the Ministry of Justice is working to increase the number of experts and diversify their fields of expertise, especially the delicate and rare technical expertise. A system for the experts’ roster has been developed with the aim of documenting and registering the different experiences in all disciplines, with the development of rules regulating how experts are listed in the roster and authorising the experts to practise expert work.
Experts are being prepared and qualified to practise the profession through integrated training programmes, which applicants receive to practise the profession before taking the legal oath within regular courses at the Centre for Legal and Judicial Studies.
They also aim to take note of the rules regarding the complaint against the expert and his disciplinary accountability, the legal rules related to the implementation of expert work, the legal rules regulating the assignment of experts in criminal matters from the Public Prosecution and a statement of the rules for discussing and objecting to the expert’s report.
Besides, the programmes deal with the provisions regulating the registration of experts, the controls for practising expert work, and the rules for performing and executing expert work in the law of pleadings and criminal procedures.
