Qatar Airways gold sponsor for career fair in US

WASHINGTON, DC: Qatar Airways will be acting as a gold sponsor for the first Qatari Students Career Fair, to be held from November 1 to 3 at the Marriott Washington Wardman Park in Washington, DC. Hundreds of Qatari students from around the United States will have the opportunity to meet representatives, conduct interviews and discuss sponsorship opportunities with 11 different government institutions and Qatari companies, including Qatar Airways.

In attendance will be Guest of Honour, Qatar’s Ambassador  to the US Mohamed bin Abdulla Al Rumaihi; Dr Mohammed Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi, Minister of Education and Higher Education of Qatar, and Qatar Airways SVP Contracts and Procurement, Mohsen Alyafei.

We are confident that, given the proper support and opportunities, these bright, young students can find rewarding careers within some of Qatar’s finest companies.” 

The Qatar Airways Nationalisation Department, a division of the airline dedicated to the development of Qatari talent, will be marketing 23 different majors during the 2013 US Career Fair as well as Scholarship programmes, Graduate Development Programme, Internship program and Aviation Management Programme and actual job interviews.  The department will host airline-sponsored Qatari students from around the US as well as graduate developees and new employees based in Doha to share their experiences as a Qatar Airways-sponsored student.

“Since the start of the Qatar Airways National Scholarship Programme in 2011, we have welcomed into the airline highly talented, self-motivated, and studious young men and women that have benefitted from the resources we provide in their academic journeys, said Qatar Airways Vice-President, Nationalisation, Dr Kholode Al Obaidli. There are 733 Qatari students in the US and 328 of them are sponsored by Qatar’s Higher Education Institute, and 405 are self-financed.
