Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has reassured the public that healthcare services across the country continue without interruption, with the main healthcare providers including the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), Sidra Medicine, and private healthcare facilities offering a full range of emergency and routine services during the prevailing exceptional situation.

“The health sector is at your service. May you remain safe and well,” MoPH said in a social media campaign featuring healthcare leaders yesterday.

Residents speaking to The Peninsula have expressed appreciation for the uninterrupted services. “I had an outpatient appointment this week at HMC, and everything went smoothly. The staff were well organised, and I felt reassured seeing services running as usual,” said Grace, a Doha resident. Another resident, who recently used the medication delivery service, highlighted its convenience. “I reordered my prescription through the app, and it was delivered to my home on time as usual.”

Mahmudeen, a resident who receives medical care from a private hospital for a chronic condition, said, “I visit the hospital weekly for follow-up appointments, and my schedule has continued without any interruption.”

Amal, a mother of two, shared her experience using Paediatric Emergency Center Hotline. “My son developed an ear-ache in the evening, and I called the Pediatric Emergency Center Hotline. The doctors attended promptly, and we were guided clearly throughout. It gave us great comfort during this time.”

Reaffirming the health sector’s preparedness, HMC announced that it continues to operate a comprehensive range of emergency and routine services across its hospital network. All outpatient clinics are running as scheduled, and patients who wish to reschedule appointments can conveniently do so through HMC’s Lbaih mobile application.

To ensure uninterrupted access to care, HMC has maintained several specialist helplines, enabling patients to receive expert medical advice from home. These include the Urgent Consultation Service, Diabetes Hotline, Mental Health Helpline, RAHA National Alzheimer’s and Memory Services Helpline for seniors and caregivers, a 24/7 Pediatric Emergency Center Hotline, a Clinical Imaging Call Center, Therapeutic Dietetics and Nutrition Services, and a Medication Delivery Service that allows prescription refills and home delivery through the Lbaih app or dedicated call lines.

Similarly, PHCC confirmed that all 31 of its health centres are operating as normal, delivering a full range of primary healthcare services.  PHCC also provides 24-hour Urgent Care Services at 14 health centres for registered patients with non-life-threatening conditions, while cases requiring higher-level intervention are stabilised and transferred via Emergency Medical Services to HMC facilities.

Meanwhile, Sidra Medicine has announced that it continues to deliver safe, uninterrupted healthcare services while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
