Doha, Qatar: "Please prove us wrong, that Palestinians, both Christians and Muslims, are of a lesser value to you?" writes the Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as she shares photos and clips from the aftermath of Israel's assault in Gaza.
In a post addressed to 'Dear World', H E Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater denounces the world for their silence. She points them out by requesting to pretend that these were not Palestinians, that they are humans born equal, that we are humans in the first place, and then react.
Giving context to prominent locations targeted by Israel since the beginning of the war, she wrote, "Israeli occupation targeted Saint Porphyrius Church, the oldest in Gaza, and killed 18 people in the church, 7 of them were kids. Saint Porphyrius was founded in the 5th century and was rebuilt 800 years ago.
"Prior to the Saint Porphyrius attack & only 300 meters from the targeted Room Orthodox Church, the Baptist hospital was also targeted by an Israeli airstrike. Gaza hosts around 17 monasteries & churches, and like mosques, hospitals, and schools, all of them are under attack."
She concluded her post by requesting the world to, "Please pretend that these were not Palestinians, please pretend that all humans are born equal, please pretend that we are humans in the first place, and REACT!"
Her comments come following the Israeli attack that killed the family members of Al Jazeera journalist Wael Dahdouh in the Southern Gaza Strip.
Condemning the lack of reaction and double standards by the 'civilised world', she wrote: "Had this happened to an Israeli journalist, the “civilized” world would now be shedding tears condemning the “barbaric” Palestinians. But of course, the victims are just Palestinians, so I guess that’s ok; they’re used to it and there many of them anyhow!"
As of October 26, Al Jazeera reported that the death toll in Gaza has now reached 7,028, a figure that includes 2,913 children, 1,709 women, and 397 elderly. More than 100 Palestinians have also been killed in the occupied West Bank since October 7.
